Starter memory

What it is:
This scene.
Rapunzel stands at the window of a tower, peering out hesitantly as a man beckons her down. She wants to follow him, but she's afraid. She starts to sing, the world is such a big and scary place, will she be able to cope? Rapunzel turns, looking back at the room she's in and for a moment considers heading back inside. It is cosy and inviting and safe; there are books and games and flowers everywhere, equipment for dress making and pottery and candle making, somewhat mishapen pots and well worn tools - she has made practically everything in this tower. All over the walls are paintings, near the bottom they are immature and childish but the style becomes more refined as you move up. There are animals and trees and pictures of herself, the stars and constellations are charted on the ceiling and on one wall a height chart revealing just how long she has been trapped here. Above the fireplace is a painting of her, at night, watching lights floating in the sky. She wants to go there. She wants to see those lights in person. With new resolve, she moves to jump out the window. A chameleon on her shoulder creates a makeshift harness out of her hair and gives her a thumbs up. Rapunzel leaps, laughing joyously. Just as she's about to reach the bottom, she stops. It's really here. The outside world, and she's about to take her first step into it. The moment her foot touches the ground all her fears and anxieties fade away. This is what grass feels like. She can see real wild flowers, unkempt and with weeds around them. And it is the dandelion that she's taken with, because she's just so used to beautiful shiny things but this is new and rough and something that would never have been allowed in her world inside the tower. She runs into a river and soaks the ends of her dress. It's wonderful and incredible and a freedom like none she's ever felt before. Rapunzel chases a flock of birds, running out through the wall without even glancing back at the home she's leaving behind. Sticks and pebbles scratch at her bare feet as she races into the forest and she doesn't even care.

What she learned:
-For some reason, she has spent her entire life in this tower longing to be free.
-There is a mysterious man who calls her 'Blondie' that wants to break her out (lol not quite)
-She is hella creative
-There are floating lights in the sky and she wants to see them
-The world is big and scary but oh so amazing
-EVERYTHING EVER IS EXCITING OH MY GOSH DO YOU SEE THIS GRASS? LOOK AT THAT TREE OMG IT'S SO TREE-LIKE. Aaaall the excitement.
