Memory 23 + 24

Memory 23, Rapunzel that is a BEAR
Form:
An apple (1/1)
What it is:
It's a short side comic of when Rapunzel was playing around in the forest after escaping from her tower, when her and Eugene were looking for the Snuggly Duckling. They're trying to find the restaurant but she keeps getting distracted by collecting pinecones and playing with woodland creatures, Eugene stays off to the side despairing at what his life has become when Rapunzel calls over to him. She says she's never seen a rabbit this big before (I think it's a rabbit she mistakes it for) and when Eugene looks back over he freaks out and runs up a tree because she's carrying a baby bear in her arms. He tells her it's a bear, put it down god damn it, and then the mother bear comes over and he really starts freaking out, but Rapunzel proceeds to be bros with the bears and nothing bad happens at all. She eventually asks them to leave so Eugene will stop being a baby, he reluctantly climbs down from the tree and is very >:( !!! Right let's go find that restaurant I was talking about Blondie.

I can't find any scans for it but the Tangled credits does have this:

What it does:
- Rapunzel knows what a bear is! She thinks they are cute and cuddly and despite their sharp claws and teeth found them friendly and delightful. Less fear of pointy teeth yay!
- She also knows about various woodland creatures and foliage a little more, pinecones yay!
- Eugene is a dork he is a dooooork

Memory 24, Waking in the middle of the night
Form:
A small crystal, breathe on it to receive memory (1/1)
What it is:

Claire Keane kept a diary of how she thought Rapunzel's day would go and how mundane activities and thoughts would translate in her life.

'She had good days and bad. Some days her paintings represented her hope, other days they represented her fears. Rapunzel was a regular girl bursting at the seems with creativity. Walls could not contain her spirit.'

This is one of those nights when she woke up and was spooked by her walls, the dark is scary and brings scary things and makes what was hopeful and nice twisted and frightening. It's a sad memory of feeling trapped and isolated, Rapunzel is scared in her tower and wants to break out but is also scared of what's outside it, all the things her mother told her would surely hurt her as opposed to just being a threat up here.

What it does:
- Immense dislike of the dark! She already didn't like it much from the cave memories where darkness nearly KILLED HER, and with Aather's darkness being the way it is, she's developing quite a phobia
- Sometimes painting DOESN'T fix everything :(
- Sad sad sad plus like 50 sads
