Memories 4-7

Memory 4, Rejuvenating Gothel, Trivial Neutral (Butter crackers, sharable: No)
What it is: Tiny baby of a memory
It's the evening of her birthday, and she's sitting in front of a fire singing as her mother brushes her hair. It's a familiar scene, something they do every other day. Rapunzel sings and her hair glows and her mother rejuvenates, wrinkles disappearing and aged skin smoothing out behind her, sighing in happiness. Once again, Rapunzel is feeling curious about the world and asks her mother why she can't go outside. She gets an answer she knows too well, the outside world is dangerous and people will try to hurt her out there. Humans are horrible, selfish creatures and the only safe place is here, do you understand? She does. But her curiosity is strong and even at this young age she knows there's something more out there. Sneaking down later that night, creeping carefully not to watch her mother, she watches beautiful, bright lights rise into the sky. They're wonderful and familiar and they feel like they're just for her.

What she learned:
- This is mostly a reiteration of things she already knew, the world is dangerous, her mother keeps her locked away, people are evil. She accepts it all so easily, but the knowledge doesn't stop the longing in her heart.
- Magical birthday lights! They show up just for me and they're incredible :D

Memory 5, Gothel telling her stories about her hair, Significant Neutral (Chocolate wreath, sharable: No)
What it is:

This is a headcanon memory, in the beginning of the movie Eugene is narrating about the flower, for him to know Rapunzel must have had to know too. She's a little older, and becoming curious about her hair. Rapunzel asks Gothel about her power, where it came from, why doesn't her mother have magical glowing hair? Other things she's becoming curious about are where people come from. Gothel settles her down and tells her, how she was born from a magical golden flower that came from the sun, which also neatly avoids having to explain the birds and the bees.

What she learned:
- She is the physical manifestation of sunlight
- People are born from flowers. Well that makes sense.

Memory 6, 'Yowa', Trivial Neutral (Sugar flowers, sharable: 1/7)
What it is:

In a deleted scene, Rapunzel explains to Eugene that when she was little, she made up the word 'yowa' to shout when she injured herself, or she'd go tell her mother she had a yowa and it made her feel better. This is the memory of those times.

What she learned:
- Making up words is another fun way to amuse yourself

Memory 7, The plague!, Trivial Negative (Jello shots, sharable: No)
What is is:

Rapunzel is talking to her mother about the outside world again, asking her just what is so scary? Gothel decides to tell her about a terrible disease she lived through, a few hundred years ago. She learns in graphic detail of the sores that oozed and bled, the fevers and infections and people vomiting blood. Gothel tells her how it ravaged the country, killing millions, and people lived in constant fear. There are little hints sprinkled throughout the story that Gothel couldn't have shared her own magical cure-all flower, because people would overwhelm her and try to steal it and she had to protect that magic just like she protected Rapunzel know.

What she learned:

- Mother is really old
- Oh god the plague is terrifying
- No really this is horrible and gross and this kind of thing really happens?? The outside world is terrible D:
- Diseases tear countries apart, not just through the sickness but through the paranoia of the healthy and human nature is selfish and wary.

All these memories combined are giving her a generally terrible impression of humanity, but luckily Aather is full of wonderful people that counteract that.
